Running with Saga, Gungnir Multibit and microRendu, and ATC SCM19s for speakers. So far (early days mind you) I would say it is a very powerful, smooth, slightly warm amp. Thanks. I know the folks at Schiit don't officially support running Vidar into 4 ohms mono (or 2 ohms stereo), but there seems to be a fair number of people out there on the interwebs doing so successfully. The official line is if you do this and listen at high volumes you may trip the protection.

Perfect timing. My plan is to test one Vidar in stereo mode and two in monoblock mode. The speakers are a 4 ohm design and Vidar is not rated in monoblock mode at 4 ohms. I will try playing at listening levels a bit above what I would consider maximum to see if there are any issues with the amps shutting down.

This produced an audible 50-60 hz hum coming out of speakers, without pre-amp/source connected. The sound was also lacking the depth and finesse.
